WHY HPI Check?

An HPI check or Car Data Check is a must for anyone considering buying a secondhand car whether it is from a private seller or a dealer, it is even worthwhile doing a check when buying from a friend unless you know the cars history , what an HPI car check achieves depends on the company you use there different prices for differing checks a chart at the foot of the page will give you what check the company does on a car and how much it costs, there is however some information that cannot give some HPI Data Checks cannot reveal a write off or where the car has been self or third party insured a HPI Data Check may not identify the mileage may not be correct then there are cloned or ringed vehicles which are copies of another vehicle bearing both a false Vehicle Registration Mark and Vehicle Identification Number.

There are cars that will have been in accidents of different severity which the owners have repaired themselves which could have had an effect on the safety of the car but will not have been recorded by insurance companies so these will not show up in the check when buying a high powered car a AA, RAC or Competent garage check is money well invested and this cost should be taken into account when buying the car
