1. Do you think that road tax should be added to petrol prices instead? If the road tax was added to the price of petrol then we would all be taxed at the rate in which we actually use the roads. The more mileage you do the more tax you pay (The more wear and tear on the roads). Low road use drivers would pay less and less green cars and lorries would pay more. Since the road tax is used to replace road surfaces and facilities then surely it is only fair that people who use the roads more pay more for their upkeep and people who hardly ever use the roads pay less?
